It should come as no surprise that Kylie Jenner’s eyeshadow paletteKyshadowsold out in like, 3 seconds after it launched last Tuesday. So, while I am sooooo saddened (not) to not have an eyeshadow palette in front of me today, 1) it’s not my fault/I tried, and 2) Don’t worry, I’m going to let you know if it’s worth buying or not anyway.
The first Kyshadow palette (yes, there will be more) features nine neutral eyeshadow shades in both matte and shimmery finishes. It’s called “The Bronze Palette” because the hues are all bronze adjacent, and because Kylie doesn’t have an imagination. -2 for unoriginality.
Kylie’s website states that the shadows have a + 1 for medium buildable coverage because although I like my shadows opaque, this is a safe route for her 11-year-old demographic. Also, the swatches below look pretty good. Not chalky and cheap. +1 for not being cheap.
According to her website, the shadows are talc and paraben free. + 2 for not poisoning us.
OK and honestly I kind of like the packaging:
+ 5 for innovative use of hologram.
Things are looking great so far! Snaps for Kylie! – 10 for making me feel this way.
As for how to use the shadows? There are tutorials on Kylie’s website so you can copy her look and continue your quest to single white female the 18-year-old if you so desire. All while giving her more of your money. -15 for robbing us.
In one of these tutorial videos, Kylie says, – 50 for wrong use of literally by palette creator.
Also, this: It’s come to my attention that a popular Australian YouTuber has an incredibly similar palette for $14.50. Here’s a pic of the two side by side.
Kylie’s charging you a whole $42 for hers, so you know what that means. – 42 for plagiarizing/robbing us again.
Total score: IDK I’m too lazy to calculate, so somewhere along the lines of -1000.
Verdict: Probably not worth it.
